Exciting new single from Lee Matthews

Castlederg singer, Lee Matthews is set to build on his reputation as one of the most talented country acts around, with the release of his new single today (Friday).

‘I Think She Likes Me’ is an up-tempo track with lashings of Americana vibes and is complimented by a new video which has already gone live on YouTube.

The new song is one of three forthcoming singles which Lee has recorded or written during lockdown and like many other artists who have been off the road he feels it is time to start releasing new material and is looking forward to better times ahead for performers.

“The thing I’m pleased about the most is just getting something out,” Lee laughed.

“It’s almost three years since I released a single. The last time, after I released an album in 2018, after that I was touring flat out.

“But it’s great to get the single out and it’s getting great feedback so far.”

A former boyband member who previously shared the stage with the likes of Westlife, McFly and the Sugababes, in recent years Lee has become a popular singer in the country music scene.

His music now has over 50,000 individual Spotify streams every month.

With a young and energetic five-piece band, Lee has toured extensively, playing at many festivals.

Songs like, ‘The Farmer Wants a Wife’, which Lee played on the Late Late Show and ‘Cotton-Eye Joe’ have garnered millions of streams through streaming services.

In 2017 Lee released a new album, ‘Then and Now’ which achieved great success, topping the British and Irish country charts.

“The whole Covid carry-on put a stop to everything and it even hurt the whole creative process,” Lee continued.

“But we hope to get back out and do a few live shows from September onwards.

“Anything that comes in now will be after the summer. We’re hoping to get back as quickly as we can.

“I can’t wait. There is only so much walking around country roads you can do!”

– Lee’s new single, ‘I Think She Likes Me’ will be available on all major streaming services from tomorrow (Friday). Check out the new video on YouTube now.
